Duplicate URL Finder

Remove repeated URLs from a list, keep the first occurrence, and copy the cleaned results. Matching is exact, and your list never leaves your browser.

Paste one URL per line. Matching is exact after surrounding whitespace is trimmed.

Unique URLs

The first occurrence of each exact URL is kept.

How to use this tool

  1. Prepare your list

Copy URLs from a crawl export, spreadsheet, campaign document, or another source. Put one URL on each line; blank lines are ignored.

  2. Remove exact repeats

Select Remove duplicates. The tool trims whitespace around each line and keeps the first occurrence of each exact text value.

  3. Review and reuse

Compare the submitted, unique, and removed counts, then copy the clean list into your spreadsheet or next link workflow.

What counts as a duplicate URL?

This tool removes exact duplicate lines after trimming surrounding whitespace. It does not decide whether two different-looking URLs lead to the same page. For example, HTTP and HTTPS, a www and non-www host, different capitalization, trailing slashes, and different query parameters remain separate entries.

That conservative behavior helps avoid merging URLs that a website may treat differently. If you want to compare canonical page targets, normalize the list according to your site’s rules first, then deduplicate it.

When to clean a URL list

Deduplicating a crawl export can make manual review easier, prevent repeated checks, and make counts more meaningful. It is also useful before importing URLs into a spreadsheet, link monitoring workflow, or redirect review.

The check runs locally in this page: the pasted list is processed in your browser and is not uploaded. For very large lists, your browser’s available memory determines how much input it can handle comfortably.

Frequently asked questions

Does the finder merge URLs with different query strings?

No. It removes exact duplicate lines only. URLs with different query strings, protocols, hosts, or paths are kept separately because they may represent different versions or destinations.

Does it keep the order of my URLs?

Yes. The first occurrence of each URL stays in its original position, and later exact repeats are removed.

Are my URLs uploaded or saved?

No. Deduplication happens in your browser. The tool does not send the pasted list to a server.

Why do trailing-slash versions both remain?

The tool uses exact matching after trimming whitespace. A URL ending in a slash and one without it are different strings; normalize them first if your site treats them as equivalent.
